If you are lucky enough to have inherited or acquired a beautiful piece of land, you probably feel strongly about it and would like to see it remain as it is for years to come. You can ensure the legacy of Cohasset's open space through financial donations or by gifts of land.
Since its founding, the work of the Cohasset Conservation Trust has been supported by private individuals and has benefited from gifts of private land and commercial property, as well as donations of cash and securities.
The Trust stands ready to sponsor or partner with others in projects that preserve the natural resources of the Town, and to work with individuals or families on the permanent protection of their land. If you are interested in protecting property you own, the Cohasset Conservation Trust welcomes the opportunity to meet with you and your advisors to assess the land’s possible conservation values and discuss conservation strategies. Please consider including the CCT in your estate planning.
Gifts of Land and Conservation Restrictions
There are many ways landowners can direct the preservation of their property other than by giving it outright to the Conservation Trust. For example, they may leave it to the Trust in their wills, donate it and lease it back, give it in small parcels over a period of time, grant an easement, or place a conservation restriction or deed restriction on their property.
Financial Donations
Individuals and organizations can support the Trust by making contributions of cash or securities. Such contributions enable the Trust to acquire lands, partner with the Town in the purchase of lands, fund legal, survey and assessment fees incurred in evaluating land prior to purchase, as well as fund the ongoing maintenance of properties.
If you prefer not to donate online, please send your check made payable to The Cohasset Conservation Trust to: PO Box 314, Cohasset MA 02025
The Trust is a tax-exempt organization under the IRS codes. All donations are deductible to the full extent of the law.
